Collecting feedback starts with capturing the basics: the respondent's name, contact details, and the date of submission. This helps in tracking and following up if necessary. Next, gather information on the type of feedback being provided, whether it's positive, negative, or neutral, along with a clear description of the experience or issue. It is also important to include the product or service related to the feedback, and any specific details that can help in understanding the context. Adding a section for suggestions can be useful too, as it encourages respondents to share ideas for improvement.
A feedback database serves to collect and organize input from users or customers regarding products, services, or experiences. It allows organizations to gather valuable insights that can help identify trends, address issues, and improve overall satisfaction. By centralizing feedback, companies can analyze data efficiently and make informed decisions. This not only enhances the quality of offerings but also fosters better relationships with customers. Ultimately, a well-maintained feedback database supports continuous improvement and ensures that the voices of users are heard and valued.
In this guide, we’ll create a Feedback Database using the Five development environment in a few simple steps. This database will allow users to submit feedback, and administrators to review and analyze it.
To get started, log into the Five environment and click on Applications. Use the yellow Plus icon to create a new application. Name this app Feedback Database and save your changes.
Navigate to Data > Table Wizard to create the necessary tables. You will primarily need a Feedback table with fields for FeedbackID, UserName, Email, Comments, and SubmittedDate. After setting up your fields, click the Tick icon to save your table.
Visit Visual > Form Wizard to design a form for users to submit their feedback. Select your Feedback table as the main data source. Configure the form fields to correspond with the Feedback table fields and save the form. This will provide a user-friendly interface for submitting feedback.
Once your form is set up, run your application using the Run button to test the feedback submission and ensure everything is working smoothly. Enjoy building your Feedback Database!
From project management tools, progress tracking apps, customer portals, and performance dashboards to functional CRUD apps, Five helps you build and deploy faster.
